Trust Method Wheels to always break the rules when it comes to style combined with substance!
One of the truly iconic aftermarket rim manufacturers of the United States, the company has been very busy launching new color variants of their extremely popular 700 Series of off-road wheels and tires. The 700 series is a blend of rims that are at home across a range of terrains- from harsh, treacherous, and unpaved surfaces to highways.
This is one reason why the 700 Series is also known as ‘trail wheels.’
As we keep getting closer to the month of July of 2022, it seems that Method has truly made up its mind to take on the mighty Fuel Wheels, Enkei, and American Racing Wheels in what will be a battle guaranteed to benefit customers!
Let’s have a quick look at the latest developments before moving on to the best Bead Grip models introduced by Method Wheels.
What’s making news on the Bead Grip rims front?
Plenty, but we will focus first on the all-new color options which have now made their way to the consumer market!
The first model which was shown off was the Bahia Blue 701, a Bead Grip wheel that looks very different from all the existing blue (or variants) shades on the market. Method Wheels has stated that the color was inspired by the shade of the ocean near Baja California, which also explains the name.
This is a unique shade and suits the 8-spoked wheel in a manner that merges the symmetry of a high-end aftermarket rim with the characteristic aesthetics which are found on most off-road rims and tires the company manufactures.
The other new model is the Gloss Titanium 703. This is another shade that has no comparable equivalent in the aftermarket circles across America and most other major markets worldwide. This rim has 12 spokes, each of which attaches itself to the inner lip using the Bead Grip proprietary technology of the company.
What makes the Gloss Titanium 703 even more attractive is the finish. Overall, the wheel looks rather minimalistic in nature. But a closer look establishes the fine machining of the surface with the company’s name and the model chiseled. While the same model has 2 other colors (Matte Black and Method Bronze), the new Gloss Titanium finish is seemingly one notch above.
The end result looks more like something Fuel Wheels would manufacture, to be honest!
These wheels are perfect for heavy vehicles including your favorite pick-up trucks. They are rated for very heavy loads as well.
Method has said that both these models will be great for off-road enthusiasts.
What other Bead Grip options can I consider?
Method Wheels is the only major brand which uses this patented technology. Using Bead Grip, you can easily deflate the tires being used to much lower levels which was not possible earlier. There was always a chance that the tubes would debead- that risk has now been eliminated using this latest proprietary technology.
If you are someone who invests substantial amounts in off-road rims and tires, you might want to consider the following models as well.
- Method 706: The 706 is one of the company’s largest-selling models. It is visually very similar to the iconic 312 model which it replaces. This range (like most high-end models from Method) uses A356 aluminum in its construction that has been thermally treated to meet the stringent T6 specification.
Currently, the 706 has 2 colors only: Method Bronze and Matte Black. The company states that these are specifically designed for bigger SUVs and Land Cruisers in mind.
Also, there is just one size available currently- 17 inches. But there is some speculation that at least 2 more diameters will be available by the end of the year.
Like most other similar models, the Method 706 takes inspiration from the MRW racing rims where the inner lips are reinforced thoroughly. This ensures that the wheels are better capable of navigating all sorts of surfaces with increased loads and lower tire pressure.
- Method 701: It would be very unwise not to consider Method Wheels 701 when counting down the best Bead Grip rims to buy! While we started with the latest color option that has hit the market, this is actually a pretty old range and has been one of the bestselling rims for the company.
Like its siblings, the 701 also has T6-A356 aluminum construction which helps it deal with anything you can throw at it! There is just one size available and that is 15 inches. However, with the growing demand for Bead Grip technology, some more sizes will soon join the range.
You must purchase your chosen Method Wheels from reliable retailers only; there are plenty of counterfeit products which look just the same and might just befool you. Good retail outlets also provide discounts on select models. While researching this piece, we consulted with the experts at Audio City USA, a 30-year-old retailer in California. You can consider purchasing Method or Fuel Wheels from them as well.
