Once the excess part is removed, use a white cloth and dip it in a vinegar solution or a mild detergent and dab on it repeatedly and do carpet shampooing. It might take some time, so you need to wait for 5-10 minutes till the time, white socks up the excess spillage. You can also rinse that area with a cloth dipped in lukewarm water. Later on, sprinkle baking soda over it and leave it for some time. After a few hours, vacuum your carpet and you will notice the stain is lightening. Repeat the steps if required.

  • Ink Stains: These stains are generally very difficult to handle. The best thing to apply in the case of a ballpoint ink is alcohol. If you don’t have alcohol, you can also use nail paint remover. Gently blot the stained area with an alcohol-based solution using a white cloth. In case your carpet is stained with permanent marker ink, use the same process again and again until the stain washes away.
  • Pet Stains: Your carpet also gets stained if you have pets. Pet stains not only effect the look but also smell bad. In this case, the first step is to remove the excess mess. Don’t scrub as it will deepen the stain. Then spray the stained area with a detergent solution and blot it gently with the help of clean towels. The next step is to apply a mix of vinegar and water to the affected area. After some time, sprinkle baking soda over it. Leave it for a few hours and spray essential oil on the stain. This will remove the unwanted odours from your carpets. Finally, vacuum the stained area thoroughly.

Apart from the above-listed types of stains, there are some other stains as well like grease and oil stains, chewing gum, etc. In case of grease and oil stains, dab the stained area using lukewarm water and a solvent solution. Use ice cubes in case of chewing gum. Put some ice cubes in a bag and place them on the top of chewing gum.
