In India, we have three stages of CA courses that include one training in it. These three courses are CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. Now, let us discuss each of them in brief.
CA Foundation: CA Foundation is the introductory course on Chartered Accountancy which majorly deals with the basic knowledge that includes the entire syllabus from class 12. After clearing the class 12 exam, this exam is given and is conducted twice a year. After clearing this exam, you can proceed to the next stage of the ca course, i.e., CA intermediate.
CA Intermediate: CA Intermediate is the second stage of the CA Course that includes two groups, each with four papers. CA Final: Once the student has completed their articleship training, they become eligible for CA Final Exam. CA Final Exam is also conducted twice with two groups consisting of eight papers. The ranks and score of this exam will decide your salary and package as CA.
Eligibility/routes to enroll:
You can enroll yourself in the CA Course through two different routes, the first one is after class 12 and the second one is after Graduation. So, let us go through the eligibility criteria regarding enrolling through both routes.
Enroll after class 12th- CA foundation
The first way to enroll yourself in the CA Foundation exam is through the CA Foundation course. For this, the student must have passed their class 12 examination. After this, they need to register themselves with CA Foundation and go through the other step-wise steps.
Enroll after graduation- CA Inter
You can also enroll yourself through the CA Inter examination. After graduation after graduation students can directly appear in the CA Intermediate exam. But for this, students need to score at least 55% aggregate marks in their graduation from the commerce stream. But if you are from other streams, you must have scored 60% aggregate marks in graduation.

The next question that comes to the student’s minds is how they can enroll in the respective courses of CA. So, the registration process for all three courses remains the same. Just the difference is that in final and intermediate, students get the choice to either opt for one or both groups.

- After saving the details, pay the required fee and complete the registration process for the respective courses.

Application procedure before exams
The primary thing that the student must understand is that there is one more form that they need to fill out before the exam after registration. This is also called the examination form. So, the students of all the courses can follow the below-given steps to fill out their exam form:
- Open the ICAI site and log in with your registration.
- Now, tap on applying for Foundation or Intermediate or Final (depends on the individual course).
- The examination form will appear on the next page, which you need to fill.
- Submit the form and pay the requisite fee.
